The core of the Center's offerings is a one-month virtual curriculum. Our program, led by renowned international ceramics experts, offers a structured curriculum focused on building techniques, surface design, and insights into the art business. You'll develop your creative routines while collaborating with teachers and peers in live, interactive sessions.

We've curated our classes to streamline the learning experience, and our cohorts include passionate individuals from around the world, providing diverse perspectives. Our collaborative community will enhance your learning journey and inspire you to push the boundaries of your artistic practice.

2025 WINTER INTENSIVE: A 4-week Live Virtual Course

This 4-week immersion is designed to transform and connect you to a diverse community of ceramic sculptors. Designed for all levels, the program offers the flexibility of a virtual format while providing the accountability, activation, and camaraderie of live, collaborative group work.

There will be two tiers of accreditation. Building upon last year’s offerings, students who have completed the level I course will be provided additional work requirements and support in obtaining their level II certification.

With 7 esteemed leaders in the arts, you will embark on a guided exploration of various building techniques and surface finishes, and gain valuable insights into the business of figurative ceramic art.

JANUARY 6 – February 1, 2025

Bi-weekly meetings with live virtual instruction covering essential topics to advance your sculptural practice. All lectures will be recorded and are yours to download.

By the end of the course, you will have a deeper understanding of key ceramic techniques and a portfolio that reflects your evolved artistic voice.

Our classes and workshops will be held twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays (with a special three-day mini workshop on building a large scale hollow reclining figure). Our meetings will be from 5 PM to 7 PM EST on Tuesdays and 11 AM-1 PM EST on Saturdays.


All meetings will be recorded, and you’ll find the recordings under the relevant topic in our classroom, where you can also download them.

Claire Partington: Studio Sculpting Session (12–2:30 pm)

- A live sculpting demonstration, artist talk and Q&A from Claire’s studio in England. This will be an in-depth and intimate visit into this amazing artist’s practice.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 21 (3-5:30 pm EST) - VIA ZOOM

Shae Bishop: The Hidden Art of China Painting
- In this course, we will explore the technique of China painting, or over-glazing. This low-fire ceramic surface method allows you to enhance your work with depth, dimensionality, and narrative content.
- Students will receive a materials kit that includes glazes, enamels, and mediums for use throughout the course.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 25 (11am- 1pm EST) - VIA ZOOM

Behing the Veil with Kathryn Gremely: Insights from 30 years as Gallery Director (11am–1 pm)

- Kathryn will offer invaluable insights into the art world, discussing everything from curating exhibitions to navigating the complexities of artist-gallery relationships. Participants will gain a unique perspective on the inner workings of galleries, tips for emerging artists, and strategies for success in the art industry.

WEEK 4
TUESDAY, JANUARY 28 (5–7pm EST) - VIA ZOOM 

Judy Fox: Fleshing the Figure

- In this session we will visit the New York studio of the renowned artist Judy Fox. Judy will be showing her unique sculpting approach to articulate nuanced, life like surfaces through her clay carving method and talk about her use of non-fired surface to complete her work. We will learn about her trajectory through an artist presentation and end with a Q&A.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1 (11am-1pm EST)

Sergei Isupov: Surface as Story

-Join acclaimed ceramic artist Sergei Isupov for an engaging Zoom class that delves into the art of storytelling through painting onto the ceramic surface. Known for his incredibly detailed ceramic surfaces, Sergei will guide you in creating expressive ceramic pieces that convey personal narratives.

HOW WILL THIS WORK?

Throughout this month-long journey, you will engage in live sessions twice a week, led by founder and instructor Cristina Córdova, in collaboration with our international instructors. You will immerse yourself in demonstrations, lectures, and constructive group critiques. These interactive gatherings will be complemented by pre-recorded materials and written resources, providing flexibility for you to tailor the experience to your own rhythm. The only requirements are an internet connection, a computer, phone, or tablet, and a Zoom account. Once enrolled you will receive instructions for a full tech check to ensure everything is set up for an optimal experience.

To further support your creative journey, you will receive both group and individual coaching from a licensed creative coach, accompanied by ongoing feedback and mentorship as you continue to develop your final project independently. Together, we will culminate our shared experience with a virtual group exhibition, where you will have the opportunity to showcase your work and celebrate our collective artistic evolution.

All sessions will be recorded and will be available for one year, ensuring that you can revisit the content at your convenience and keep it as a lasting resource for continued inspiration and growth. Join us as we harness the power of technology to foster creativity, community, and artistic expression.
