Terms and Conditions for the Center for Figurative Ceramics Residency
1. Application and Acceptance
1.1. The residency program is open to artists who meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the application guidelines. 1.2. Acceptance into the residency program is based on a review of the submitted application materials by our selection committee.
2. Residency Fee and Payment
2.1. The residency fee is $1320 for a 2-week stay, which includes private housing and full access to the studio. 2.2. Tuition payments are non-refundable. However, if a resident chooses to withdraw before the residency begins, the payment may be credited towards future applicable programs. 2.3. Payment of the residency fee is required in full upon acceptance into the program to secure your place.
3. Travel and Accommodation
3.1. Residents are responsible for their travel expenses to and from our studios. 3.2. Due to the rural nature of our location, residents are encouraged to bring a car for convenience and accessibility. 3.3. Private one-bedroom apartments with cooking facilities and laundry are provided, and housing costs are included in the residency fee.
4. Studio Access and Equipment Use
4.1. Residents will have complete access to all studio equipment, including kilns, sandblaster, electric wheel, spray booth, slab roller, wood firing pit, and glaze kitchen. 4.2. Full technical assistance will be provided to help residents become familiar with the facilities and equipment. 4.3. Residents are expected to be self-directed in their creative journey.
5. Material Fees
5.1. Fees for materials will be assessed and sold at cost within the studio. 5.2. A list of materials and prices will be shared with residents following their acceptance to help them determine which materials to purchase from the studio and which to bring from home.
6. Conduct and Responsibilities
6.1. Residents are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner at all times. 6.2. Residents are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of their workspace and shared studio areas. 6.3. Any damage to studio equipment or property caused by negligence or misuse will be the responsibility of the resident, and repair or replacement costs may be charged accordingly.
7. Liability and Insurance
7.1. The Center for Figurative Ceramics is not liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property incurred during the residency. 7.2. Residents are encouraged to obtain personal health and travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances.
8. Termination of Residency
8.1. The Center for Figurative Ceramics reserves the right to terminate the residency of any participant who fails to comply with the terms and conditions or whose behavior is deemed disruptive or detrimental to the residency program or community.
