FORM AND FINISH /NOVEMBER 18-26, 2024/ Pull out bed in shared space with shared bathroom (2300 tuition + 435= $2735)
In-person 7 day (plus arrival and departure days) workshop with Cristina Córdova , Patricia Esperanza and Amara Abdal (live via Zoom). The class is limited to 10 students.
You will build a 25" full figure using the Córdova Method, a versatile slab-building technique that works at different scales. You will learn all about the ancient technique of pit-firing to create incredible surface qualities from a master artist. You will learn how to harvest and process your own native clay to connect to your practice in a deeper way and open innumerable surface possibilities.
The cost of the course is $2735-$3025 (depending on lodging selection) and includes instruction from 3 teachers, studio assistant's support, clay, all materials, firings (bisque, surface firings, wood-pit fire), a welcome dinner and all lunches throughout the class.
Lodging will take place at two extraordinary properties near the studio in Bakersville, North Carolina. A vehicle is needed (can be shared) to drive to and from lodging, supermarket etc...
All lunches will be vegetarian and gluten free with dairy free options whenever applicable. If you have additional dietary needs we'll offer a menu at the beginning of class so you can anticipate when to bring lunch alternatives to suit your needs.
This is an intense, fast-paced workshop that will transform your creative practice and inspire lifelong friendships. In order to participate, you must be healthy and capable of walking in uneven, mountainous terrain and lifting at least 25 pounds (a bag of clay) on your own.
Subcontracted shipping options will be available for those that choose to leave their work and have it sent directly to their homes.

We will take all reasonable measures to ensure the instructors, content, and schedule are consistent with the course overview, however we are not responsible for unexpected changes to the scheduled events in the workshop.
Tuition payments are non-refundable, but may be credited in full towards future applicable programs in the event that a student chooses to withdraw before the workshop begins.
We reserve the right to cancel a workshop if minimum enrollment is not met, in which case all tuition and fees will be refunded.
